We became a bonded winery the summer of 2000 with a mission to make small lots of hand-crafted, premium red wines made exclusively from Bordeaux varietals.

Our goal is to consistently produce wines delivering the kind of finesse and subtle complexities one would expect to taste in expensive premium wines from artisan wineries using only hand-crafted, labor-intensive winemaking techniques.

By limiting the production of each vintage varietal, we are better able to manage the winemaking process. We see our job as one of helping the grape reach its maximum potential. Only through meticulous processes can the wine maker produce premium world-class winesWe've Changed Our Name:

We changed our name in October of 2006. The winery was first bonded as McGavick Nanstad Winery. In 2004, the McGavick side of the winery decided to move in their own direction providing quality wines for charitable causes. So, in October of 2006 we decided it would be best to clearly separate the two sides of the winery. McGavick wines can be found in many fine restaurants around the Puget Sound area and may be purchased by the case from the McGavick Winery. Nanstad Winery will still offer fine red wines through select restaurants, local wine shops, QFC Quality Food Centers, and our website.

We offer premium hand-made red wines for a reasonable price. Our grapes come from hand selected vineyards in the Yakima Valley and Horse Heaven Hills Appellations . Our premium wines evolve from the finest Washington State grapes money can buy. The varietals we offer are Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc. We have also considered offering a blended red dinner wine. Once you've tried our wines, we would love it if you would share your comments and tasting notes.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
