This is the legend my Grandparents passed down to me of how the small village where I was born, in northern Bharat, was named.

Farmers checking on their animals in the distant flat lands came across a Wolf and a Sheep sitting peacefully together, sharing the special place and the bounty it had to offer. From this wonder, the farmers decided to move the existing village to this new area with the wish of capturing that peaceful harmony. The new village was named Kalala and refers to this miracle in the pursuit of Harmony.

The Okanagan Valley where I now live with my family shares a lot of the same values of my birthplace and this legend. Our organic grapes are grown in harmony with their environment and nature's elements.Karnail Singh Sidhu - Proprietor

Founder and President Karnail Singh Sidhu left his native India in 1993 with an Electrical Engineering diploma and 25 years of experience in agriculture. Upon his arrival in Canada, Karnail moved to the pristine Okanagan Valley and started a family. Since 1993 he has been busy with over 10 years as Manager of Canada's largest certified organic vineyard.

In addition to these projects, Karnail has continued his education and is now trained as an organic inspector. He founded Kalala Agriculture in 1997 and now Kalala Organic Estate Winery is the culmination of his experiences and pursuit of harmony.

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Rex Pickett, Sideways

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

  Best Books of the Year

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
