Nestled in between the majestic live oaks on Charleston's back porch of Wadmalaw Island, this 48-acre winery and vineyard has something for everyone. Irvin~House Vineyards is the only domestic winery in Charleston, South Carolina and should be on the top of your list when visiting the Lowcountry. A local and visitor favorite, we grow the grapes, harvest them, make the wine and bottle our wines on site. About 30 minutes south of Charleston, the vineyard offers walking trails, a petting zoo, a garden, large pond, winery, Firefly distillery and gift shop. Prepare to spend some time enjoying self-guided tours through the vines or take advantage of our affordable and informative wine tastings. Whether you’re a large group or intimate couple, the vineyard has plenty of things to do.

If you’re headed out to the vineyard, be sure to have lunch before visiting. Besides our Sippin’ Saturdays, where food trucks are available every Saturday spring through fall, it’s easier to find delicious fare on James Island, Johns Island or Downtown Charleston Tuesday through Friday.

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Rex Pickett, Sideways

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
