Julie Scheve, Kristin Link, Brian Link, and Dan Scheve, are partners who own and operate Heart's Fire Winery. Dan and Julie have been making wine at home since 1997. Brian and Kristin joined the home winemaking madness - and the idea of starting a winery began to ferment soon after.
We are very pleased with our vintages. We source our grapes from single vineyards in Dry Creek Valley in Sonoma County and Redwood Valley in Mendocino County.
The name "Heart's Fire" reflects our passion for making wine. The popular term for our style of winemaking is "boutique". We search out excellent grapes from vineyards whose care and culture best reflect what we value in the wine. We take great care in our winemaking - while we seek to minimize the manipulation involved in the process in order to let the wine "speak for itself".
Our techniques include hand sorting of small batches, minimal chemicals, and gentle treatment. We strive to make a wine that we love to drink and love to share. Our winemaking adventure started in our garage. Many friends, and their children, have contributed time and effort in the process.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
