Frank Latcham and his family started Latcham Vineyards in 1981 as a retirement dream after practicing law in the San Francisco Bay Area for over 40 years.
In 1990 the Latcham family decided to begin making wine from their vineyard and opened the tasting room at Latcham Vineyards. The wine was produced at nearby Granite Springs Winery until 1994 when Latcham Vineyards purchased the winery from the original owner Les Russell. Granite Springs Winery was an already accomplished winery with a rich history as a pioneer in the newly founded Fairplay wine region. The winery was noted for its wonderful Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, and Sauvignon Blanc to name a few.
The Latcham Family continues to operate both Latcham Vineyards and Granite Springs Winery today with the help of their dedicated and knowledgeable staff who are dedicated to producing premium wines of the highest caliber. We are a family business above all else and strive to make every customer feel as though they are apart of our family.

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Rex Pickett, Sideways

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable: A Tipsy Search

  Best Books of the Year

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
