Flying Trout Wines is a winery based in both the Walla Walla, Valley and Mendoza, Argentina, focusing on malbec, syrah and torrontes. We are a small winery exploring the concept of terroir to new levels and latitudes and hope to continually offer you sensational wines from around the world.Flying Trout Wines is a result of winemaker Ashley Trout's annual winemaking ventures in Mendoza, Argentina from February until May and in the Walla Walla Valley during the remainder of the year.

Flying Trout produces fewer than 600 cases a year. Most releases are fewer than 100 cases.

We joined forces with Tero Estates in 2010, moving to Milton Freewater, Oregon and sharing the Tero production facility.

From sensuous syrah out of Walla Walla to classic malbec in Mendoza, Flying Trout Wines aims to bring you a little bit of the best of the world and nothing else.

Winemaker Ashley Trout has been making wine since 1999, when she was 18 years old, traveling for equally as long, and is now pleased to share with you both of her passions.

Originally from Washington, DC., she moved to Walla Walla for college and started winemaking two weeks after arriving to town. Years later, a severe climbing accident caused her to be bed-ridden during a crush season, which in turn led her to realize just how much she loved her job. Not being able to wait another year, she decided to head to the southern hemisphere for their crush.

Argentina's Malbec and Torrontes were varieties that Mrs. Trout fell in love with. Argentina's lure was irresistible and so started her bi-annual, bi-hemispherical crushing and Flying Trout Wines.

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
