Ribbon Ridge Estate is 36+ acres. A small portion of the farm is from the original parcel owned by the Carter family. Darlene's Aunt Ethel Aramenta Evans married George Colby Carter. Over time, the intersection of Ribbon Ridge Road and Lewis Rogers Lane changed and other parcels were developed. The farm fronts Ribbon Ridge Road for approximately 130' today.

Welcome to Aramenta Cellars where rich history was born, as Ribbon Ridge was named in 1865. The Carter and Evans family have occupied Ribbon Ridge since inception. In fact, the image above was a photo of Ethel “Aramenta” Evans taken in front of the schoolhouse in 1908. Over the year’s parcels of Ribbon Ridge Estate was sold off to other families, but the heritage remains intact.

We (Ed and Darlene Looney) have been farming fruit and nut orchards for more than 41 years. On July 15, 2000 the first vines were planted on the property. In 2002 with family and friends we constructed the winery building on the footprint and foundation of our old barn. Our passion for winemaking began then, with the production of our first Pinot Noir, and it has only increased with each vintage.

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Rex Pickett, Sideways

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

  Best Books of the Year

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
