Reviews and Ratings

Astrid Young - Sommelier ISG CAPS rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Trentadue being a pretty good standby when i lived in California, felt just a bit warm and fuzzy seeing it on the shelf - and one of the things California does very well is the zinfandel-dominant field blend type of red, like this one: complex on the nose with evidence of American oak, juicy berry fruit flavors with lingering notes of licorice clinging to the acid profile - quite pleasant, and very well balanced for an almost 15% wine. Dark berry fruit dominant, and less of a fruit bomb than you'd think, with a good decanting it'd be perfect with mildly spicy dishes with Moroccan or African style spices.
The Trentadue family were traditionally grape growers in Sonoma since 1967. Paul Draper of Ridge Vineyards bought their Geyserville fruit every vintage and he persuaded them to start the Trentadue Estate winery in 1969. Their Old Patch Lot #37 is blend of Zinfandel, Syrah, Carignane, and Petite Sirah grapes. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
