Reviews and Ratings

Tollo Rocca Ventosa Cerasuolo Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Rosé from Abruzzo D.O.C. is a vivid, medium-bodied rosé of genuine character and depth, made entirely from Montepulciano grapes using a brief cold maceration that draws out the wine's signature deep pink colour and intensely fruity personality, with a nose of ripe sour cherry, sun-warmed watermelon, and crushed violet, layered with delicate wild herb, stony mineral, and a gentle earthy undertone that gives the wine real personality. It is bone dry and refreshingly crisp on the palate, with bright acidity and a clean, lingering finish that makes it one of the most versatile wines at the table. Serve it well chilled and enjoy it through 2029. Winemaker and oenological supervisor Riccardo Brighigna, twice awarded Winemaker of the Year for the Abruzzo region and honoured by the Italian Ministry of Agriculture at Vinitaly 2013 for services to Italian enology, has guided Cantina Tollo's premium winemaking since 2003. Founded in 1960 by twenty local farming families who refused to abandon their land at a time when many Italians were emigrating abroad, Cantina Tollo has grown into one of Italy's most decorated cooperatives, earning the Best Cooperative Italy title every year from 2019 through 2025. - Community Wine Reviews

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
