Very elegant with long lines of plummy richness and depth. There are enticing notes of tobacco, pepper and cassis in a lovely melange and lengthy finish.

Merlot food pairings: pasta with bolognese sauce, veal stuffed sausage, buffalo burgers, bean dishes.

Reviews and Ratings

The Oldfield Series Merlot was the first wine to be released under the Oldfield
Series tier. Now in its seventh vintage this wine is must have for Merlot lovers. The
2007 vintage’s blend is 92% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, and 3% Syrah. The varietals
were fermented separately in stainless steel tanks prior to being moved into oak
barrels. It then spent 18 months in 100% French oak ranging in age from new to two
year old. After barrel aging the wine was blended together prior to bottling. It spent
15 months in bottle before its release.

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
