The Glenlivet 12 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky, Speyside, Scotland is a smooth, approachable classic that appeals to both newcomers and seasoned whisky drinkers. It opens with bright, fragrant aromas of pear, green apple and subtle citrus, layered with gentle hints of vanilla, honey and toasted oak. The palate is smooth and medium-bodied, balancing light sweetness with flavours of sweet malt, orchard fruit and warm spice, followed by a mellow, clean, lingering finish that feels balanced and elegant at 40% alcohol. Matured in American and ex-bourbon oak casks, it shows refined complexity while remaining easy to enjoy neat or on the rocks. Fascinating fact: The Glenlivet was the first licensed whisky distillery in the Glenlivet valley in 1824, and its 12-year expression helped establish the modern single malt Scotch style, defined by purity, balance and approachability.

Single Malt Scotch Whisky food pairings: honeyed walnuts, apple tart, smoked salmon canapés.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
