Reviews and Ratings

Tezza Caporal from the Veneto I.G.T. is a vibrant, medium-bodied organic red from the Valpantena Valley just north of Verona, where the calcareous, iron-rich soils bring a freshness and lift to the wine that is beautifully preserved by fermentation and ageing entirely in stainless steel, giving the fruit clarity and energy from the first sip. It opens with an expressive nose of ripe Morello cherry, crushed raspberry, and dried rose petal, with a characterful thread of damp earth and woodland floor woven through the mid-palate, finishing with a gentle whisper of bitter cocoa and warm spice. It is bone dry, light on its feet, and best enjoyed slightly below room temperature, drinking beautifully now and through 2032. Winemaking cousins Flavio, Vanio, and Federico Tezza have run this certified organic family estate since 1998, continuing a story that began when their grandparents Giovanni and Virginia first planted vines in 1960, making this a true three-generation labour of love rooted in Valpolicella tradition. Fascinatingly, every step of the production process at Tezza takes place entirely on the estate, from vine to bottle, a rarity in Italian winemaking that the family considers the foundation of their commitment to authenticity and transparency. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
