Tenute Falezza Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore from the Mezzane Valley northeast of Verona is a full-bodied blend of Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, and Oseleta, made using the ripasso method where the wine undergoes a second fermentation over the dried grape skins left from Amarone production, building remarkable density and warmth without the full weight of an Amarone. On the nose it opens with dried black fig, warm cinnamon, and espresso. The palate is plush and layered, with prune, cracked pepper, dark cocoa, and a long, savoury finish with well-knit tannins and food-friendly acidity that earns its place at the table. Luigi Falezza founded this family estate in 1974 after purchasing his own land in San Felice, and the property has since grown to 12 hectares of hillside vineyards farmed by the family across two generations. Cellar it through 2030 and pour it with lamburgers stuffed with feta cheese, where the wine's dark fruit and structured tannins hold their own against the lamb and cheese, or try it with a tourtière where the spiced pastry filling draws out the wine's cinnamon and earth notes beautifully.

Ripasso Valpolicella Superiore food pairings: lamburgers stuffed with Feta cheese, tourtiere, rich meaty stews, hard cheeses.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
