Stonehaven Limited Vineyard Release Padthaway Chardonnay from South Australia's Limestone Coast opens with an inviting nose of honeydew melon, preserved lemon, warm brioche, and dried chamomile with a delicate sea salt whisper at the edges. Dry and medium-bodied, it was partially fermented in oak and aged on yeast lees for eight months, giving the palate a silky weight and bright, refreshing acidity that carries through to a slow, tapering finish. Serve it lightly chilled and enjoy it now or cellar it through 2032. Winemaker Ben Wurst has devoted over two decades to crafting cool-climate wines along the Limestone Coast, bringing genuine regional fluency to every bottling. In a fascinating piece of history, while the first commercial vines were planted in Padthaway as far back as 1964, the sub-region was not officially gazetted until 1999, making it one of Australia's most quietly pioneering wine frontiers.

Chardonnay food pairings: Baked halibut with a lemon caper sauce, creamy mushroom and thyme pasta, grilled pork tenderloin with apple and fennel slaw.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
