Natalie's Score: 92/100

Sterling released its first-ever vintage-dated California Merlot in 1969 and is known for its smooth, full-bodied and superbly balanced Merlot wines. The 2015 vintage is silky with soft ripe blackberry, cherry, plum and chocolate tones. Tannins are fine and there is good acidity on this wine for food. Pair with Porchetta sandwiches.

Merlot food pairings: roast pork with apricot compote, crown pork roast with corn niblets, roast chicken.

Reviews and Ratings

Sterling is known for its smooth, full-bodied and superbly balanced Merlot wines. Their 2015 Merlot from the Napa Valley is no exception. Lots of ripe, liquid dark plum flavours with mocha, blackberry and dark cherry flavours on the palate wrapped up with a kiss of chocolate. Sterling released the first-ever vintage-dated California Merlot in 1969. Pair with a roast of pork. - Community Wine Reviews
