Staete Landt's Annabel Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough, South Island is a highly perfumed, medium-bodied white wine offering notes of passion fruit, lime zest, snow pea, and grapefruit pith. This dry, sustainably grown wine shows a sharply defined palate and impressive concentration that will continue to evolve over the next three years. Serve it well chilled with pan-fried lemon sole, where the wine’s brisk acidity brightens the delicate fish, or pair it with green salads topped with herbed goat cheese, as its lively personality offsets the tangy cheese. Winemaker Ruud Maasdam crafts this irresistibly drinkable wine from estate grapes, revealing nectarine, mandarin peel, and subtle white tea nuances alongside fresh-cut herb vibrancy on the long, juicy finish. A faint almond meal note adds appealing texture. This energetic, versatile Sauvignon Blanc represents outstanding quality and will drink beautifully through 2029.

Sauvignon Blanc food pairings: brunch dishes, green salads topped with herbed goat cheese, pan-fried lemon sole, fish tacos.
