Natalie's Score: 90/100

This is a blend of mainly Sangiovese grapes, Merlot (25%) and some Sagrantino (15%) grapes. Great value here. This robust Italian red wine is produced by Scacciadiavoli, the oldest winery in Umbria's Montefalco region. It features aromas of dark fruit, smoke, spice and attractive earthy notes. Interestingly, its name comes from a nineteenth-century exorcist who worked in a small town beside the winery: it translates to "one who casts out devils." Decant for 1-2 hours. Needs a strong dish, like grilled meats, to pair with it.

Food pairings: grilled meats, cheesy pizza, grilled flat iron steak.

Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A yummy light-medium bodied red blend (mostly Sangiovese) with high chewy tannins and a long dry finish. Tangy cherry and cranberry notes mixed with scrumptious baking spice notes dominate this wine. Enjoy with chilli con carne. Tasted Sep 2017 by @sommsosa | besoketastings.ca
Scacciadiavoli Rosso (2012) is a robust red produced in the Umbria wine region. Scacciadiavoli is the oldest winery in Umbria's Montefalco region. Scacciadiavoli translates to "one who casts out devils." I knew wine could do that. The wine is showing dark, ripe fruit, smoke and earthy spice and is a blend of mainly Sangiovese wine grapes with 25% Merlot and 15% Sagrantino. Drink now with rich, meat dishes and for the next three years. - Community Wine Reviews
