Vibrant, juicy and lip-smacking delicious! Full-bodied, savoury and deep red wine. Dark fruit and smooth. Great price, especially for a DOC! Terrific Old World character, but blended with New World vitality and energy. The grapes for this wine are grown on the Salentine peninsula in southeastern Italy, known as the “heel of the boot.” The robust red wine is a blend of mostly negroamaro grapes and some malvasia nera grapes. Try it with hearty meat dishes tonight.

Reviews and Ratings

Geza Hrazdina rated this wine as 90/100
The 2013 Gambero Rosso guide awarded this wine its highest rating of 3 Glasses (out of 3). From what is colloquially known as the "heel" of Italy's boot, and comprised of primarily Negroamaro along with some Malvesia Nera. This will be a deeply coloured and complex wine with intense dark fruits accented by spice notes. Source: Vintages Wine Ratings and Reviews, undated.
