The Philippe le Hardi Vieilles Vignes Bourgogne Pinot Noir A.O.P. is a vegan-friendly, certified organic red harvested from specially selected old vines on south-facing, mid-slope parcels across the Côte Chalonnaise and Côte d'Or, opening with a delicate nose of tart wild strawberry, dried rose petal and a whisper of warm black pepper, while the light-to-medium-bodied palate delivers bright flavors of fresh red currant, pomegranate and a gentle thread of forest floor, all carried by silky, refined tannins and a clean, elegant finish with just enough structure to reward patience. It is bone dry and wonderfully poised, so serve it lightly chilled and enjoy now through 2030. The estate takes its name from Philippe le Hardi, the Duke of Burgundy who took possession of the magnificent Château de Santenay in 1372 and, in 1395, issued a bold ordinance banning the Gamay grape from Burgundy in favor of Pinot Noir, a single act of political will that quite literally invented the concept of terroir-driven varietal winemaking and shaped the entire course of wine history. The château itself dates back to the 9th century, spans over 200 acres across 14 appellations, and has held Terra Vitis sustainable farming certification since 2004, completing its full organic conversion in 2024. Pour it alongside a classic charcuterie board of cured meats, cornichons and aged comté, where the wine's bright acidity and earthy depth are a natural, convivial match, or serve it with roast chicken rubbed in herbs and butter, letting the wine's red fruit and gentle tannins shine alongside the savory simplicity of the dish.

Pinot Noir food pairings: Cold cut-based charcuterie, grilled chicken.
