Orestiadi Mazal Frappato from Sicily's Belìce Valley reveals aromas of ripe black cherry, garden thyme, wild rose and a touch of cracked black pepper. It's dry and medium-bodied with plush tannins and bright acidity that makes this red surprisingly refreshing and versatile with food. Serve it slightly below room temperature alongside herb-roasted chicken where the wine's savory notes and silky texture complement the crispy skin and tender meat, or pair it with grilled vegetable skewers drizzled with balsamic glaze where the wine's fresh acidity balances the char and sweet reduction. The winemaking team at Tenute Orestiadi crafts this 100% Frappato from hand-harvested grapes grown at 200 meters elevation on the silt and clay-rich black soils of the Trapani hinterland, then ages it for four months in stainless steel followed by eight to ten months in French and American oak barrels and an additional six months in bottle before release. Founded in 2008 in the rebuilt town of Gibellina Nuova following the devastating 1968 earthquake, Tenute Orestiadi is uniquely situated in what's considered one of the world's largest outdoor contemporary art museums, where vineyards and modern sculpture coexist as a tribute to resilience and beauty. Enjoy this expressive Frappato through 2028.

Frappato food pairings: roast stuffed peppers, roast chicken, turkey.
