Reviews and Ratings

Novus Altitude Red from the Peloponnese P.G.I. is a vibrant, medium-to-full-bodied dry red blend of Syrah, Merlot, and Agiorgitiko, hand-harvested and cold-soaked individually by variety before vinification, delivering a nose of dark cherry, crushed black olive, and warm cracked pepper, with a juicy, fleshy palate that layers ripe blackberry and plum with a beguiling coastal salinity and a freshening citrus edge on the finish. The tannins are velvety and well-integrated, and the wine drinks with an easy, modern confidence that makes it as enjoyable on its own as at the table. Serve it at a cool room temperature and enjoy it in its vibrant youth through 2026. Third-generation chemist-winemaker Leonidas Nassiakos founded Novus in 2022 in the heart of the Mantinia Appellation, drawing on nearly 30 years of experience at two of the Peloponnese's largest wineries before striking out on his own to champion the region's indigenous varieties. Fascinatingly, the Nassiakos family legacy in Greek wine stretches back to the 1950s, and it was Leonidas's father who bottled the very first PDO Mantinia wine for the late Konstantinos Antonopoulos in 1983. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
