Cultivated in a coastal terrain marked by granite formations interspersed with diverse clay soils, this wine benefits from a notable finesse and structured backbone. Expect an enticing blend of lively crimson berries and deep cherry tones, interwoven with hints of foraged herbs, rustic floral nuances, and a whisper of smoky spice that unfolds into a persistent, stony mineral finish. A segment of the vintage was gracefully refined in French oak for seven months while the remainder was kept in stainless-steel tanks, making it an ideal complement for dishes such as a wild mushroom risotto or pan-roasted quail accented with a tart cherry reduction. NEW: Montes farms this Pinot Noir on granite and clay soils along Chile's cool Aconcagua Costa, close enough to the Pacific to catch the fog.
