Reviews and Ratings

Mitravelas Ktima Agiorgitiko from Neméa P.D.O. is a rich, full-bodied red of real depth and elegance, drawn from estate vines over 40 years old that deliver beautifully concentrated, small-berried fruit, then aged six months in second and third use French oak to build complexity without overwhelming the grape's naturally expressive character. It opens with an inviting nose of dark cherry, dried plum, and crushed violet, with layers of warming spice, toasted cedar, and a distinctly Mediterranean earthiness that speaks clearly of the ancient Neméa terroir. The palate is velvety and broad, with polished tannins and a long, fruit-driven finish that gives this wine the structure to develop gracefully into the early 2030s. Serve it at room temperature and decant before pouring. Winemaker and fifth-generation proprietor Konstantinos Mitravelas took over the family estate in 2003 after business studies, introducing modern techniques and bottling while honouring a winemaking heritage that stretches back to 1913, making this one of the oldest continuously operating wineries in all of Neméa. Remarkably, historical records trace the Mitravelas family's vineyard plots in the area to documents from the Kapodistrias government dating back to 1828, placing their roots in this landscape at the very dawn of the modern Greek state. - Community Wine Reviews

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
