Reviews and Ratings

Community Reviewer reviewed this wine as follows:

Distinctive white peach aromas have been accentuated by the subtle clove and cashew nut oak. Sophisticated mix of primary tropical fruit. Crisp acid gives length and structure to the generous palate.

Community Reviewer reviewed this wine as follows:

Arômes distincts de peches blanches complétées par des touches subtiles de clous de girofle et de noix d’acajou. Mélange sophistiqué de saveurs de fruits tropicaux. L’acidité vive apporte de la longueur et de la structure au palais généreux

Winemaker’s Notes: This wine is a blend of many different parcels of Chardonnay fruit, each parcel being kept as an individual until blending. The fruit was harvested in the cool of the night and swiftly crushed to extract the best free run from the grapes. Once cold settled the juice was racked to ferment, with a portion fermented in a combination of French oak barriques and hogs heads oak barrels. A portion of this oak component also underwent malolactic fermentation to provide a blending component and contributes richness to the wine.

Taste Profile

Colour: Medium straw with hints of green

Bouquet: A lively, complex wine with white peach, guava and passionfruit flavours combining with creamy butterscotch flavours from the oak treatment

Palate: The flavours carry through from the nose to the palate with ripe peach and nectarine apparent. Background oak flavours of vanilla and butterscotch contribute complexity while an acid backbone provides great structure. The finish is long, soft and flavoursome.

Cellaring potential: Drinking beautifully now or can be cellared carefully for up to four years from vintage
