Voluptuous, buttery beauty from BC! This Chardonnay has got it all: layers of peach, pear, toffee and vanilla smoke. Yes please! Full-bodied and mouth-watering with a finish that lasts. Pair with game dishes, such Cornish hen and quail as well as good ole chicken.

Reviews and Ratings

TASTING NOTES: Pale straw color with attractive green hints. Rich layers of citrus, white peach and mango well integrated with some interesting spicy, creamy vanilla notes. Round, full, yet elegant thanks to mineral under current. A great example of restrained power to enthuse, an elegant style of oakery. Lovely acidity with long balanced and intense finish. Drink now or up to seven years. Drink now or over the next 3-7 years
WINEMAKING: Grapes are hand-picked into small 30 pound trays and then cooled to 5-8C before whole bunch press. Juice lightly settled and 100% fermented in French Oak barrels (Forest of Nevers). After ferment, the wine was left on lees in barrel for 5 months and then racked to stand for a further four months in steel tank on fine lees.
WINEMAKER'S COMMENTS: The 2013 growing season had two distinctly different chapters. An unpredictable cold and wet spell late in September had us change gears and put our patience and nerve to the ultimate test. The season started with normal bud-break in the middle of April. Above average June temperatures led to earlier veraison. The grapes picked before the rain showed intense fruit flavors associated with a hot and dry ripening season. The second chapter of 2013 season was a nerve-racking waiting game, with cool rainy weather slowing ripening and also bringing the added concern of rot. A long and sunny patch late in October saved the day and, those lucky bunches that enjoyed this weather on the vine, achieved full phenolic ripeness.
