Great complexity and layers in this lushly ripe Riesling. Apricots and pears compete for your attention and delight the senses. Medium-bodied and persistent. Perfect for casual get-togethers. The grapes for this organic wine come from the Wehlener Sonnenuhr vineyard, and are hand-picked. Terrific intensity! This wine would be terrific with roast turkey or seafood.

Riesling food pairings: various cheeses, squash soup, pork chops with maple glaze, crab, striped bass.

Reviews and Ratings

Dan Trcka Wine Blogger rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

The Markus Molitor Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Kabinet 2011 has slightly volatile as well as yellow pear notes. It is a medium bodied, sweet, fruit forward wine, with checked acidity and a medium finish that is faintly sulfurous. My impression: NOTHING SPECIAL, 87 pts - wine for this price should deliver much more. Tasted during Riesling & Co. World Tour May/13.
