MINE: From Laura Cantena, Luca 2019 is produced from Old Vines Malbec sourced from three vineyards in the Uco Valley in Altamira, La Consulta and Gualtallary. Dry, medium-plus-bodied and vibrant with blackberry, earthy florals, anise and dark chocolate flavours generous on the palate. Tannins are firm. Good now, better in 2024 after a little taming of the tannins. NEW: Laura Catena sources this Malbec from three distinct vineyards scattered across the Uco Valley, each one contributing something different to the final blend. Blackberry and dark chocolate carry the fruit, with an earthy, floral lift running underneath. The tannins are firm now, though they'll only get more polished with a little time in the bottle. Few winemakers in Argentina think about vineyard sites with this much precision. Pizza night or a juicy hamburger would both make happy company for this one.

Malbec food pairings: pizza, lamb, spicy sausage, beef, hamburger.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
