Laura Hartwig Single Vineyard Carmenère offers concentrated aromas of black olive, dark plum and herbal undertones. It's dry and medium-to-full bodied with supple tannins. Serve it at room temperature with smoky grilled chorizo where the wine's savory character complements the paprika while its smooth texture balances the sausage's richness, or cellar it through 2030. Chief winemaker Renato Czischke crafts this wine for the family-run estate founded by Laura Bisquertt and her husband Alejandro Hartwig, who planted their first Bordeaux vines in 1978 after Alejandro spent a decade working in Montreal where he became passionate about wine—what began as their retirement project now produces over 130,000 bottles annually from vineyards in Colchagua Valley. This versatile wine also pairs wonderfully with hearty bison burgers topped with caramelized onions and aged cheddar, where the wine's ripe fruit echoes the sweet onions while its structure cuts through the meat's lean richness.

Carmenère food pairings: meat-based pasta dish, ribs in a zesty sauce, bison burger.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
