La Torre di Ananìa Luigi's Brunello di Montalcino from Montalcino, Tuscany is an elegant, full-bodied red wine crafted from organically farmed Sangiovese with notes of red cherry, violet, sage and espresso. This dry wine displays firm tannins and vibrant acidity that will soften beautifully over the next fifteen years. Serve it slightly below room temperature with osso buco as the wine's structure stands up to the braised veal shank, or pair it with wild boar ragù over pappardelle where the wine's earthy complexity complements the rich game sauce. Winemaker Luigi Antonio Ananìa ferments the fruit on skins for up to twenty days before aging the wine for five years in traditional Slavonian oak casks, which adds subtle spice without overwhelming the fruit's purity. The estate's 4.9-hectare vineyard sits at a cool 420 meters elevation, producing Sangiovese of remarkable freshness and balance that earned this wine a prestigious 96-point score from Robert Parker's Wine Advocate. This exceptional Brunello represents outstanding quality and will continue to evolve gracefully through 2040.

Brunello di Montalcino food pairings: slow-braised blade roast, roast pork shoulder, veal Parmesan.
