Kourtakis' Kouros Neméa from Greece is an elegant, medium-bodied red wine crafted from Agiorgitiko with notes of red cherry, plum, sweet spice and vanilla. This dry wine displays supple tannins and juicy fruit that make it immediately approachable. Serve it at room temperature with herb-roasted pork loin as the wine's smooth texture complements the tender meat, or pair it with grilled lamb kebabs where the wine's red fruit balances the charred, spiced flavors. Winemaker Yiannis Kourtakis crafts this accessible Agiorgitiko from vineyards in Neméa, where limestone soils and mountain air create wines of remarkable freshness and elegance from this indigenous Greek variety. According to legend, the Agiorgitiko grape took on its deep red color from the blood of Hercules after he was injured battling the Nemean lion in this historic region, making every sip a taste of Greek mythology. This smooth, food-friendly wine represents excellent value and will drink beautifully through 2030.

Red food pairings: roast of pork, beef rouladen, roast leg of lamb.
