Natalie's Score: 92/100

A smooth and sensuous, medium-plus-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon, rich and refined, with deep aromas of plum, currant, blueberry, blackberry, dark cherry and cassis, supported by notes of cedar, tobacco and a whisper of dark chocolate. The palate is full-bodied and dry, showing ripe dark berry, blueberry, mint, fine herbs, toasted nut and cedar spice flavours. Tannins are firm, polished and pleasantly grippy, with balanced acidity and 14.5% alcohol providing structure and length. This wine has a meaty middle, a satisfying finish, and finishes long with elegant spice and subtle oak influence. Drink or hold. Fascinating fact: Kaiken means “Andean goose” in the indigenous Tehuelche language, and this flagship Cabernet is sourced from high-altitude vineyards in Mendoza that benefit from cool nights and long, sunny days, resulting in intense fruit and vibrant acidity.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: prime rib, hearty meat stews, pork tenderloin.
