This wine is called Jordan in South Africa, however since there is a Californian winery by that name, it goes by Jardin outside the country. Husband and wife team Gary and Kathy Jordan own and operate this winery. Generous toasty oak and golden apple on the nose and palate of this robust Chardonnay. Good balancing acidity. Pair with roast chicken. Love it! Big, generous Chardonnay with mouth-watering zip! Gorgeous aromas of green apple, butter and hazelnut yet there’s also a zingy lime finish to clean up after the richness. Make your tongue happy.

Reviews and Ratings

Wineboy rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

I love barrel fermented Chardonnays often showing what i describe as Burgundian characteristics. This one delivers. I might think Burgundy except for a nutty note that dominates mid-palate. Makes you long for another sip.
Owned and operated by American ex-pats, Gary and Kathy Jordan, the winery is known as Jordan in South Africa; due to another winery in California with that name, they go by Jardin internationally. Jardin's Barrel Fermented (2015) Chardonnay from South Africa's Stellenbosch wine region is rich with tropical fruit, hazelnut and vanilla notes on the palate. Elegant with a long, mouthwatering citrus finish, over 90% of the wine was oaked in old and new oak. - Community Wine Reviews
