Reviews and Ratings

Gurjaani makes this off-dry Saperavi in Kakheti, Georgia, from a grape whose flesh, juice, and skin are all red, giving the wine a deep, almost inky colour. Crushed pomegranate and cracked pepper lead the nose, with a whiff of clay-rich earth from Kakheti's ancient valley soils. The palate stays tangy and focused, with tart cranberry, iron-rich minerality, and firm, youthful tannin giving it real backbone. Kakheti is the oldest wine-producing region in the world, with roughly 8,000 years of winemaking behind it. Saperavi has been its defining red grape for most of that time, proof that some traditions are worth sticking with. Light on alcohol, it pours easily alongside mild curries or roast pork with apricots, where its touch of sweetness and bright acidity find their footing. - Community Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
