Medicinal menthol on the nose dominates then blackberry liqueur notes emerge. Full-bodied and smooth and huge on both weight and alcohol. Pair with hearty meat dishes.

Food pairings: thick stew of potatoes and spicy sausage, pan-seared venison with grilled asparagus and blue cheese-bacon mashed potatoes, grilled lamb steaks and spicy chorizo mash, smoked cheese.

Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

This red wine needed to open up a little for me to vent off some of the overwhelming shoe polish nose I received at first. Once open this dark succulent wine displayed dark cherry, cassis, raspberry, floral, vanilla, mint. The palate serves up some prune and raisin with secondary stoney minerality. Tannins still evident and acidity medium+. Very nice elongated cherries jubilee finish. Already going on five years old and there is still good fruit and acidity to carry it another few years in my humble opinion. Sourced from 100% Organic Graciano grapes. Enjoy with roasted lamb, Paella, beef fajitas.
Tasted: January 2015
The 2009 vintage of the Finca Los Alijares Graciano sources grapes grown in nine hectares of organic vineyards in the Camanera region. The wine is aged for 4 months in new oak barrels. - Community Wine Reviews
