Fanti Rosso di Montalcino from Tuscany is an approachable, medium-bodied red offering aromas of wild strawberry, dried violet, and hints of forest floor. It's dry with polished tannins and vibrant acidity. Serve it slightly below room temperature with grilled pork chops as the wine's juicy fruit and gentle structure will enhance the meat's savory char beautifully, or pair it with aged Pecorino cheese where the wine's fresh character and persistent finish will complement the cheese's crystalline, nutty depth perfectly. Filippo Baldassare Fanti, who took over the family estate in the 1970s and transformed it into one of Montalcino's premier producers, works alongside his daughter Elisa and consulting oenologist Stefano Chioccioli to craft this wine from 100% Sangiovese grown in certified organic vineyards near the historic Abbey of Sant'Antimo. The Fanti family has cultivated wine, extra virgin olive oil, and cereal crops on this 300-hectare property in southern Montalcino since the early 18th century, and today they continue to produce hallmark wines from the region's distinctive galestro and tufo soils. Enjoy now.

Rosso Di Montalcino food pairings: grilled pork chops, aged Pecorino cheese, wild mushroom pasta.
