F. Cossy Sophistiquée Millésime 2012 is a bone-dry vintage champagne. From a bit of a roller-coaster vintage starting with a warm winter, then extremely wet spring with frost and hailstorms, which had an effect on yields, then a sunny but hot August with only September showing the 2012 vintage some mercy. That said, this bubble is delicately floral on the nose with crisp ripe apple and berry notes with a vibrant creamy mousse of bright orchard and white stone fruit flavours, white florals and delicate red berry and citrus flavours refined on the palate. Very nicely done. Chill and enjoy with a toast to the vintage. The Cossy family have been growing grapes in Champagne since 1764 and bottling their own wines since the 1950s.
