From the Eisele Vineyard, Pickett 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon is dark ruby red in the glass, fragrant and ripe on the nose with dark cherry and cassis; rich on the palate with dark cherry, blackberry compote, chocolate and smoky toasty oak spice. Approachable now, but can easily cellar for 10 years or more. Eisele Vineyard, formerly known as Araujo, produced some of Napa Valley's "cult" wines since it was established in 1990. If having tonight, decant for two hours and pour with a well-marbled prime rib roast.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: beef tenderloin, bison burgers, prime rib.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
