Dr. H. Thanisch's Bernkasteler Graben Riesling Spätlese from Mosel is a lush, full-bodied white wine offering notes of ripe apricot, quince, golden plum and white currant. This sweet wine displays mouth-filling character and crystalline purity that will continue to develop over the next twenty-two years. Serve it chilled with Thai dishes as the wine's opulent texture balances the spicy flavors, or pair it with Korean ribs where the wine's precise aromatics complement the caramelized glaze. Winemaker Konstantin Thanisch crafts this fragrant Spätlese with charred slate and cardamom-spiced fruit on the aromatic bouquet. Luxurious with mango, tangerine and powdery mineral alongside maritime flavors on the palate, this complex and rich wine doesn't taste overly sweet but rather briny and almost dry on the aftertaste. This classic Mosel Riesling will always animate and represents excellent quality and will drink beautifully through 2050.

Riesling food pairings: Thai dishes, Korean ribs, curries, sushi.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
