Château Tour de Pez from Bordeaux is a powerful, full-bodied red wine offering notes of blackcurrant, dark plum, cedar and violets. This dry Cru Bourgeois displays firm tannins and concentrated fruit that will soften beautifully over the next nine years. Serve it at room temperature with herb-crusted rack of lamb as the wine's structure complements the rich meat, or pair it with beef Wellington where the wine's intensity stands up to the savory pastry-wrapped tenderloin. Winemaker Philippe Dambrine crafts this structured wine from vineyards on the renowned Pez plateau west of Saint-Estèphe, where gravelly soils and proximity to the Gironde estuary create ideal conditions for producing age-worthy Bordeaux. The estate has been producing exceptional wines since the 19th century and maintains the traditional Médoc winemaking philosophy of balance, structure and aging potential. This promising Cru Bourgeois earned Wine Enthusiast's Cellar Selection designation and will continue to develop layers of leather and tobacco through 2034.

Food pairings: roast leg of lamb, roast beef, roast duck.
