Château Joinin Bordeaux offers inviting aromas of red currant, subtle spice and hints of earth. It's dry and medium-bodied with a smooth texture. Serve it at room temperature with slow-braised beef Bourguignon where the wine's supple character mirrors the dish's richness while its bright acidity balances the savory sauce, or cellar it through 2033. Brigitte and Richard Mestreguilhem acquired this estate in 1989 when Brigitte inherited the 25-hectare property from her family—they immediately left the local cooperative to bottle under their own label and replanted nearly the entire vineyard with Merlot, bringing the same meticulous care they apply at their prestigious Château Pipeau in Saint-Émilion Grand Cru. This approachable wine also pairs wonderfully with grilled lamb burgers topped with feta and fresh mint, where the wine's ripe fruit complements the cheese while its structure cuts through the meat's tender richness.
