Fresh and bright Sangiovese bursting with layers of red cherry and wild berries earthy and underbrush flavours on the palate. Ama's vineyards are composed of argilo-calcerous soils and are planted along the top of a ridge in the commune of Gaiole in Chianti. Grape vines from here are low yielding delivering some very interesting wines.

Chianti Classico food pairings: sausage and bean cassoulet, meat lasagne, vegetarian chilli.

Reviews and Ratings

From the Tuscany wine region, Castello Di Ama San Lorenzo 2015 Chianti Classico is a robust Sangiovese red with red cherry, blueberry, earthy mushroom, florals, cedar spice and sous bois flavours on the palate. Like all Gran Selezione wines, it is released 30 months after January 1st following the harvest. Pair with a rich and meaty game dish in a wild mushroom red wine sauce. Enjoy now and over the next 10 years. - Community Wine Reviews

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
