Castello di Ama's San Lorenzo Gran Selezione Chianti Classico from Tuscany is a luscious, medium-bodied red wine blending Sangiovese, Malvasia Nera and Merlot with notes of boysenberry, crushed granite, violet and white pepper. This dry wine displays supple mid-palate and stunning balance that will continue to develop over the next fifteen years. Serve it slightly below room temperature with veal Parmigiana as the wine's striking inner sweetness complements the melted cheese and tomato sauce, or pair it with meaty lasagne where the wine's compelling complexity stands up to the rich layers. Winemaker Marco Pallanti crafts this fabulous Chianti from the historic San Lorenzo vineyard, with production down thirty percent in 2020 due to stringent selection, ensuring remarkable concentration and purity. San Lorenzo remains an archetype for contemporary Chianti Classico, showcasing silky tannins and aromatic depth. This approachable yet age-worthy wine represents outstanding quality and will drink beautifully through 2040.

Chianti Classico food pairings: meaty lasagne, meat-lover's pizza, veal Parmesan.
