Cantina Tollo's Pietrame Edizione Limitata Montepulciano d'Abruzzo from Abruzzo is an energetic, medium-bodied red wine crafted from 100% Montepulciano with notes of fresh plum, violet, dark cherry and cocoa. This dry wine displays gentle tannins and vibrant fruit that will continue to develop over the next four years. Serve it at room temperature with grilled Italian sausages with peppers as the wine's bright character complements the charred flavors, or pair it with eggplant parmigiana where the wine's acidity cuts through the melted mozzarella and tomato sauce. Winemaker Franco Spinelli ages this expressive Montepulciano in steel vats for twelve months to preserve the wine's fresh, cool-toned character and aromatic intensity. Cantina Tollo is one of Abruzzo's largest cooperatives, representing over 1,000 growers across the region and consistently producing exceptional quality wines that showcase the potential of Montepulciano at accessible prices.
