Riccardo Cotarella, who has earned Wine Enthusiast's Winemaker of the Year and Gambero Rosso's Best Italian Winemaker awards, crafts this single-vineyard expression from the Valfredda site in Ala, meaning "cold valley," where the surrounding Dolomite mountains provide natural protection and the perfect east-west exposure creates ideal ripening conditions for Pinot Grigio, and the vines were planted in 1990 across 74 acres managed by three local families who hand-harvest the grapes.
