The strength of the 2014 vintage shows beautifully in this BC blockbuster red wine. Wowsers. A robust BC red wine blend of Cabernet and Syrah grapes. Smoky, toasty oak with a charred, blackened edge. This is the winery's flagship label. Pair with grilled meats.

Food pairings: grilled meats, meat lover's pizza, meaty stews.

Reviews and Ratings

From British Columbia's Okanagan Valley's Black Sage Bench, Burrowing Owl's Athene (2014) is a full-bodied 58% Syrah and 42 % Cabernet Sauvignon red wine blend. The wine was aged 18 months in 71% French and 30% American and European oak barrels, of which 17% was new. This vintage is rich, structured and smoky. Drink now or hold in cellar for five years. - Community Wine Reviews

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
