Natalie's Score: 89/100

Vintages Wine Panel: Benziger has long practised sustainable agriculture in the production of their wines. Their methods are not only good for the environment, they also help nurture grapes with more site-specific characters, flavours and aromas. This full-bodied Syrah shows ample blackberry fruit with hints of coffee, supported by supple tannins. Try it with beef steaks, from grass-fed cows. My note: Full-bodied and lip-smacking delicious. Aromas of dark fruit and smoke.

Syrah food pairings: beef.

Dan Trcka Wine Blogger rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

The integrated, medium to full bodied 2006 Benziger Syrah has a nice bouquet of pronounced vanilla-coconut, followed by less intense wood and oak and with delicate yogurty strawberry/blueberry aromas. It has refined tannins (decant for 15 to 30 min) and a long and smooth finish. It is ready to drink now but will nicely age for the next 5 to 10 years. My impression: BEAUTIFUL, 92 pts - a definite recommendation, especially at this price. Tasted Dec/10.
