Mocha and sweet dark chocolate on the nose of this Californian Pinot Noir from generous oak aging on the nose and palate. This is followed by sweet cherry flavours and a supple almost full-bodied weight. Finishes with flavours of raspberry pie and clove and cinnamon spices. Pair with ham or Mexican mole.

Reviews and Ratings

Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Deep ruby in the glass with scrumptious dark fruit(cherry, plum, black raspberry),cranberry, violet, tea leaves, leather, smoke, clove, cedar. Palate leads to a toasty warmth and sweet cigar. This wine is dry with youthful tannins that soften as the wine opens up. Medium+ body with medium+ acidity balancing all the ripe California fruit. A beautiful wine. Drink now with potential to age over next 5 years. Pair with planked salmon, turkey with cranberry stuffing.
Tasted: November 8, 2014
Martha Kelly AIWS - CS rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

This Pinot Noir has both red and dark fruit flavours with notes of cola, chocolate, and herbs in true Santa Barbara style. Medium plus body with firm tannic structure and mouth-watering acidity this wine will continue to evolve gracefully.
Pair with charcuterie, pulled pork, or Teryaki steak.
Drink now or cellar until 2019.
Date tasted: November 2014.
