Alpha Estate was founded in 1997 by viticulturist Makis Mavridis and Bordeaux-trained winemaker Angelos Iatridis, who helped rescue Malagouzia from near-extinction and has been championing it as a world-class aromatic variety ever since, and this single-block Latipes expression from Amyndeon is among the finest arguments he's made for the cause. Rich and intense on the nose with lifted florals, fresh citrus, ripe stone fruit, and gentle oak spice, it opens to a creamy, balanced palate of white nectarine and lemon curd with a long mineral-driven finish. Drink it now through 2029.

Malagouzia food pairings: grilled white fish, seafood, light vegetable dishes.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
