One of Alto Adige's most renowned and significant producers, Alois Lageder was founded in 1823 and has a long history of innovation in both the vineyard and winery. Their Pinot Grigio wines are benchmark expressions, and this one is lean, refined, edgy and fresh, with white peach, lemon citrus and minerality. (Christopher Waters,theglobeandmail.com,June 21, 2023) MINE: Alois Lageder's Terra Alpina Pinot Grigio from the Vigneti delle Dolomiti in Alto Adige is a sleek, light-bodied white of alpine precision and quiet elegance, offering a pure, expressive bouquet of honeydew melon, dried verbena, crushed limestone, green almond, and a bracing thread of glacial minerality that immediately evokes the dramatic mountain terroir from which it comes. At 12.5% alcohol, it's bone dry and wonderfully racy, with a laser-focused acidity and a clean, persistent finish that speaks to the cool, high-altitude growing conditions of this extraordinary northeastern Italian region. Alois Lageder is one of Alto Adige's most storied and pioneering estates, founded in 1823 and now in its sixth generation of family ownership, with a long-standing commitment to biodynamic farming that makes their wines as honest and expressive as the landscape that surrounds them. Serve it well chilled alongside a platter of fresh sushi, where the wine's stony minerality and citrusy freshness are a natural and elegant companion, or pair it with crispy calamari with a lemon aioli dipping sauce, letting the wine's alpine brightness and green, herb-tinged character cut through the richness with effortless precision. Enjoy it through 2028. NEW: Alois Lageder has farmed in Alto Adige since 1823, with the same family still at the helm generations later. Green apple and a touch of white pepper greet you first, a bright, saline snap underneath. Crisp and precise, real energy shows for a Pinot Grigio this high in the mountains. Serve it with sushi or crispy calamari.

Pinot Grigio food pairings: sushi, buffalo chicken wings, calamari.
