Reviews and Ratings

Greg Hughes rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Niagara in a nutshell. Here you have classic escarpment soils (glacial deposits, Halton clay, and the erodinf Queenston Formation).
This winery is one I am happy to see more of, in stpres. They are a producer near 16 Mile Creek amd they focus soley on Burgundian stuff at the moment ( Chardonnay and Pinot Noir).
This Pinot is unfiltered, so some sedimentation would be normal. Really it is a sign of their preservation of flavour/aromatic compounds.
What is really so striking about this Pinot at this stage of its life is how fresh it remains. There is no real tell of age to it. It's a bright pink-ruby.
Super fresh cherry, pomegranate, and lots of florality.
It still has youth too. I recommend keeping it for a short stint and revisiting in 2020. It is tasty and well put together, but some integration will make this something special. Yumyum.
Pair with ratatouille or squash pie.
Andrew rated this wine as 85/100 with the following review:

Tried it for the first time at a pizzeria and pleasantly surprised.
16 Mile Cellar Rebel 2014 is an unfiltered Pinot Noir from the Niagara Peninsula wine region. Pale ruby in the glass, on the nose the wine has ripe cherry, strawberry, raspberry, earth florals and underbrush aromas. On the palate, the wine is dry with vibrant acidity and raspberry, tart cherry, tobacco leaf and cigar box flavours finishing with a pronounced minerality. This wine is beautifully balanced and tannins are smooth. Very easy to enjoy now, but can hold in cellar for another three years. - Community Wine Reviews
